When it comes to luxury estates, the Audi A4, scores very highly in virtually every department. With understated looks, excellent build quality and a wide range of engines, it's no wonder that it has proved to be so popular.

In fact, the engine choice is nothing short of phenomenal but particular highlights include the 2L and 3.2L V6 petrols and the 2.7L diesel. From 2015 onwards another diesel, the 2L ULTRA, was added to the A4 range, which notably delivers over 70 miles to the gallon.

There's also a good choice of gearboxes including five or six-speed manuals, six-speed automatics and seven-speed CVTs, which drive the front wheels on smaller engine models and all four wheels in the more powerful cars.

Over successive revamps, the car's load capacity has been steadily increased with the most recent models offering a very reasonable 1510 litres of capacity. A double level boot also helps to increase the available space.

The car's spec is high with traction and stability control, air conditioning and all round electric windows fitted as standard. In 2015, Xenon headlights and an infotainment screen have also been added.
