About the Hyundai i10
The i10 is now only available as a 5-door hatchback. While it’s a small car, its practical body style means that it’s effortless to get in and out of. The boot is quite small, as it’s a city car, but it’s decent enough for everyday life. The i10 is one of the most affordable cars you can buy, perfect for those on a budget, like first-time drivers. Even if you’re an experienced driver though, the i10 is a great car. It’s cheap to buy and has meagre running costs. All in all, the Hyundai i10 is a comfortable car, though it’s probably not ideal for large families.
What you can expect to find in a Hyundai i10
To keep things nice and simple, the Hyundai i10 is available in 3 trims - the SE, SE Connect, and the Premium. When you see the i10’s price tag and the fact that it’s a city car, you might be sceptical about the variety of tech on offer. Don’t fret though - Hyundai has done a frankly incredible job with the i10, and it genuinely offers tech that can be found in cars that are double the price of the little i10. Even the entry-level SE trim provides plenty of great features.
- 14-inch steel wheels with wheel covers
- Lane Departure Warning System, with Lane Keep Assist
- Leather steering wheel
- Manual air-conditioning
The tech on offer definitely makes the i10 standout. In a class that’s all too often full of barebones features, it’s refreshing to see Hyundai demonstrate that a small car doesn’t need to be lacking in big car features. That being said, don’t be fooled into thinking that the i10 isn’t fun to drive. This city car has sharp handling and plenty of punchy engine choices. While it’s hardly a performance car, you’ll have no problem overtaking, and it's perfect for nipping around town. The i10 is really well priced and features a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty in case anything goes wrong. Higher specs on the latest i10s have some really impressive features.
- 16-inch alloy wheels
- 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay
- Reversing camera
- LED daytime running headlights
While the i10 is undoubtedly an ideal car for a first-time driver or someone who just needs to make a short commute, it’s actually not too bad for a small family. If you have only 1 child, you’ll be surprised at how liveable the i10 is. The 5 doors make it a breeze to fit Isofix child seats, and it’s actually pretty spacious in the back for a child. As the i10 is so small and is equipped with Hyundai's brilliant engine, the car is really cheap to run. The fuel economy is excellent, insurance groups are the lowest possible, and the road tax is free. As Hyundai prices its products relatively low from new, you’ll be able to find a large amount of Hyundai i10 bargains in the used-car marketplace. As an added bonus, the 5-year warranty carries over - even if you didn’t buy it from new.
