About the Mercedes-Benz GLC
The Mercedes-Benz badge is not one to take lightly, and the makers clearly took it seriously when the GLC was introduced in the mid-2010s. The car's 4-wheel-drive system means it's aimed at drivers who are happy to take their Mercedes-Benz onto the rough stuff occasionally, though, in truth, most of these cars are largely or entirely on-road machines. The excellent ride quality is a big part of the GLC's appeal, and the popular diesel engines are quiet and smooth to drive. Don't expect room for more than 4 fully-grown adults, though.
What can you expect to find in a Mercedes-Benz GLC?
You wouldn't expect any Mercedes-Benz car to skimp too much on standard equipment, and the GLC is no exception to the rule. Regardless of the trim level of the used GLC you go for, you can expect all of the following to be included in the deal:
- Climate control
- Roof rails
- Electric driver's seat
- Cruise control
- Parking sensors
- ISOFIX points to anchor child seats
Of course, if you want to up the ante a little, then you can certainly seek out some of the higher trim levels in the Mercedes-Benz GLC range. We'd suggest keeping your eyes open in case you find a secondhand GLC with some of the following options:
- Electric passenger's seat, for maximum comfort
- DVD to help your passengers stay relaxed on any journey
- Heated, electric mirrors, ideal if you're heading out on a winter's morning
- Satellite navigation infotainment system, for both route-finding and fun
- Electric sunroof, allowing you to feel the wind in your hair
- Headlight washers, making sure your lights are working at their full potential
The Mercedes-Benz name helps the GLC to hold its value pretty well on the second-hand market, so be prepared to browse carefully for your ideal vehicle. You shouldn't have a lot of problem selling yours on, though petrol cars are likely to do better than diesel ones these days.
