Used Porsche 911 information

Engines and transmissions

Porsche offers the 911 in several different variants, with either a manual or automatic gearbox and rear- or all-wheel drive.

Petrol
  • Carrera models include a 3.0-litre turbo flat-six that pumps out 379bhp, for a 0-62mph time of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 182mph.
  • Carrera S produces 443bhp, while the GTS is tuned for 473bhp.
  • Turbo and Turbo S models produce 571bhp and 640bhp respectively.
  • GT3 offers 503bhp, while the GT3 RS has 517bhp for a 0-62mph time of 3.2 seconds.

Practicality

The Porsche 911 is surprisingly practical as a daily driver, with back seats that are able to accommodate young children. Its main purpose is still driving pleasure, however, and it's extremely enjoyable to take out on weekends and for longer cruises.

Interior space
  • Front seats are adjustable for comfort.
  • Back seats are better reserved for smaller children or used as additional luggage space.
  • Interior storage is very decent considering the car's coupé design.
Boot space
  • Under-bonnet boot measures 132 litres in rear-wheel drive versions, and slightly less with four-wheel drive.
  • Boot is quite deep and holds soft bags well.
Bodystyles
  • Coupé variant provides a hard roof for all-weather travel.
  • Convertible allows for more freedom during warmer, sunny days when open air is preferable.
  • Targa models combine the benefits of a soft-top and a hard-top thanks to a solid removable roof panel.

Safety

  • Standard airbags, stability control and automatic emergency braking offer peace of mind.
  • Available adaptive cruise control, night vision and lane change assist heighten driving confidence.

Technology

  • Responsive infotainment system provides crisp, clear graphics.
  • Drivers instrument cluster is easy to read and the digital parts are configurable to your preferences.
  • Various stereo systems allow for customisation of sound quality.

Porsche 911 generations

The Porsche 911 has been on the road since 1963 with its unique rear engine design. Since then, the manufacturer has continued to upgrade the styling features and add more innovations that keep it competing against the very best cars. Its superior handling and head-turning appeal make this car extremely popular with enthusiasts.
