Originally launched in 2012 and updated in 2013, the first models to roll off the production line came with a choice of three petrol and one diesel engines. Petrol engines were 1.2L and 1.4L with a 1.6 TDi. There was also the choice of a five-speed manual gearbox and the seven-speed automatic DSG. In 2013 another engine option, the Greenline, was introduced to provide a more eco-friendly alternative that also gives 70mpg+ economy.
The ride in the Rapid is exceptionally smooth and comfortable on every kind of road surface with good, supportive seats and there's even more leg and head room in the post 2013 spaceback and estate models.
There are three levels of trim to choose from, S, SE and Elegance. All are well-equipped with air conditioning, cruise control and a multi-function steering wheel. Other very handy features in some models are the removable door pockets which make keeping the car tidy easy.
