Not only can the C-MAX be found for a decent price among used cars, but it's also affordable to run. The Ford MPV can be a lot of fun to drive, while the roomy interior is designed to keep passengers comfortable.
You have the choice of petrol and diesel engines, manual or automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive.

Interior spaceFord introduced the C-MAX in 2003 as a compact people carrier based on the Focus. During those first few years (through to 2007), it was known as the Focus C-MAX. The second generation also brought the seven-seater model, the Grand C-MAX. Ford worked hard to keep all the lineups relevant and competitive until it was discontinued in 2019.
The new C-MAX was designed to bring more comfort and improved safety features. A new EcoBoost engine was released to increase the efficiency without sacrificing power. The design was also changed slightly to fit in better with the rest of the lineup.
By 2014, the vehicle was ready for an update, even though Ford decided to keep the overall egg-shaped design. The bold styling and unique way of combining an MPV with a hatchback helped to make this model popular until it was retired.

The C-MAX was released to keep up with the growing MPV market and it was based on the Focus. The rear independent suspension made it a comfortable drive - an aspect that set it above some of the competition. However, from the outside, it looked like a carbon copy of the Focus with some larger features.
In 2007, the C-MAX received a name change (the word 'Focus' was dropped) and was updated. The headlight designs were changed to differentiate it from the Focus and a new bumper was released.

There's a nearly equal split between petrol and diesel-powered C-MAX variants among used cars. The diesel models may be slightly more efficient, but the petrol engines can output more power.
Ford offered the C-MAX in three models: Zetec, Titanium and Titanium X. The most popular has been the Zetec because of its lower price. Some variants come standard with 16-inch alloy wheels, rear parking sensors, fog lights, a heated windscreen, cruise control, voice control and autonomous emergency braking.
You could consider looking for the panoramic glass roof that adds more light to the cabin and provides an upmarket feel. Also available are part-leather upholstery and heated front seats, which are great for when temperatures drop.
The C-MAX is designed with families in mind, offering a more spacious back seat with plenty of headroom for even the tallest passengers. The boot space is also accommodating, perfect for a holiday with the family.
Ford didn't build a C-MAX with a hybrid powertrain. Instead, used car buyers have an option between petrol and diesel models.
There are automatic options with the used C-MAX lineup. These aren't nearly as popular as the manual gearbox, but you shouldn't have trouble finding one to suit your needs.
As with most cars in this segment, the C-MAX is front-wheel drive. This configuration offers decent handling in normal driving conditions and helps to keep efficiency as high as possible.
