Inside the cabin, Mazda continued adding up-to-date tech, with the introduction of a new GT Sport Nav+ grade, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Over the years, the CX-5 interior cabin has rivalled notable luxury models.

Mazda released the CX-5 crossover in 2012, sharing its platform with the Mazda 6. Based on the KODO Soul of Motion language, the first model had a unique design with swept-back headlights, a wide grille and sculpted bodywork. The interior was meant to be simple and minimalistic.

Mazda offers the CX-5 in several trims, with the Centre-Line as the current base model. Base trims are a great choice when it comes to value for money, but they tend to have minimal features. While the Takumi has the most to offer feature-wise, most people choose the Sport Nav for its enhanced exterior appearance and standard-fit satellite navigation.
