Inside the cabin, Mazda continued adding up-to-date tech, with the introduction of a new GT Sport Nav+ grade, as well as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone connectivity. Over the years, the CX-5 interior cabin has rivalled notable luxury models.

Mazda released the CX-5 crossover in 2012, sharing its platform with the Mazda 6. Based on the KODO Soul of Motion language, the first model had a unique design with swept-back headlights, a wide grille and sculpted bodywork. The interior was meant to be simple and minimalistic.
A 2014 refresh changed some of the original concepts. New wheel designs were added and some models received LED bulbs. Interior changes included available aluminium trim and an upgraded infotainment system.

Mazda offers the CX-5 in several trims, with the Centre-Line as the current base model. Base trims are a great choice when it comes to value for money, but they tend to have minimal features.
