If you're in the market for a small and stylish city car, then a used VW up! is a great option. It provides highly economical motoring with no frills. Even though it's lacking many premium features, it's well-built, comfortable and is meant to last. It's also very practical for its size, and is enjoyable to drive, particularly around town where its small size is at its most useful.
With the newest models, the previous petrol and electric powertrains have been removed, leaving only one powertrain available.
PetrolEven though it's a smaller model, the cabin is well laid out for maximum comfort. It also handles well in the city, making its way into smaller spots with ease.
Interior spaceThe up! first hit the scene in 2012 when it replaced the Volkswagen Fox. It's smaller than the first-generation Golf, and was intended from the outset to be an economical option for city driving. While it's still in its first generation, facelifts occurred in 2016 and 2020 that offered a more modern style and upgraded technologies.

After being around for 12 years, Volkswagen has announced the end of production for the UP!. Used VW UP! cars can still be found for a reasonable price.
The up! is a top choice for city travel because of the compact design and low price. It has also proven fairly reliable, with only some airbag issues in the earlier years that have now been ironed out. When buying a used UP!, watch out for scrapes and dings from getting in and out of tight parking spaces.
Built on the same platform, the Skoda Citigo is nearly identical to the VW up!. Both of these city cars showcase a boxy style and a flat back end with very similar interior quality.
The GTI hot hatch was removed from sales prior to the standard line-up. The final models sold out so quickly that VW was forced to halt orders, with the automaker underestimating the popularity of the UP! variant.
No, the newest UP! models have a small engine designed for efficiency. These 1.0-litre petrol motors can take around 15 seconds to get to 62 mph. Older GTI versions have a stronger engine that make the model more enjoyable to drive.
