• 40 TDI has a 2.0-litre engine that creates 201bhp, giving the A6 a 0-60mph time of 7.2 seconds and an efficiency rating of up to 50.4mpg.
• Other diesel motors generate between 281bhp and 344bhp, depending on the configuration.

The most economical engine is the 268bhp 3.0-litre, which offers 55mpg and a 5.3-second 0-60mph time.
