If you're in the market for a hybrid car that's reliable and spacious, then a used Toyota Prius is a great choice. The Prius lineup has high-tech features, a spacious boot and advanced safety equipment. Additionally, a double-wishbone rear suspension increased the handling, stability and ride quality. With the new underpinnings, the interior space was increased and comfort was improved.
The powertrain was smaller and lighter, but this didn't affect the car's capability. CO2 emissions dropped and efficiency was boosted, making the Prius more popular than ever.
The Hybrid Synergy Drive system was completely updated during this generation to improve efficiency and help with the car's environmental impact. The final product was lighter and smaller than before, while the engine size grew from 1.5 to 1.8 litres.
Toyota kept the basic styling of the second generation the same, but modernised it slightly. Interior trim pieces were constructed from recycled plastic that came from plant matter, showing that these materials could have a purpose in the automotive sector. During this generation, the Prius+ was also revealed, with seating for seven people.

The 1.8-litre petrol self-charging hybrid has proven popular amongst Prius drivers. Newer models can only be found with a plug-in option, limiting the choices for buyers, but making the used market more desirable.
