Interior spaceTo add more options to its premium SUV lineup, BMW released the X2 in 2018. It was one of the smallest models, comparable in size to the X1. Continuing to share its platform with the X1, the new X2 offered a sportier upgrade with a wider grille design and an optional LED strip. The front style depended upon the model chosen, with the option for adaptive LED headlights and two different bumpers that included air scoops for better engine cooling. The LED taillight design ensured that the X2 looked wider than before from the rear, but the SUV was also made bigger to add more interior space.
Inside the cabin, new technology was added. Additionally, BMW upgraded the powertrain choices, ensuring that drivers had access to plenty of power or efficiency, depending on their needs.

The X2 was released and shared its platform with the MINI Countryman and X1. However, it was designed as a Sports Active Coupé, modelled after the X1, which shared its similar size.
