Petrol

• 0.9-litre generates 83bhp or 103bhp, with the latter achieving an 11-second 0-60mph time and fuel economy of 67mpg.
• 1.4-litre outputs 76bhp and has a 0-60mph time of 12.6 seconds and fuel economy of 50mpg.
• 1.4-litre turbocharged engine offers a boost to 138bhp or 167bhp depending on the variant, with fuel economy at 52mpg.
• Veloce can produce up to 167bhp from the 1.4 MultiAir for sportier handling and the fastest 0-60mph time of 7.1 seconds, while still outputting 52mpg.

Diesel

• 1.3-litre creates between 83bhp and 93bhp and fuel efficiency of up to 83mpg, depending on the variant.
• 1.6-litre variant produces 118bhp, achieving 0-60mph in 9.6 seconds and fuel economy of 64mpg.

Practicality

The Alfa Romeo MiTo isn't a large car, and was only ever made in a 3-door layout, so there's not going to be a massive amount of passenger room, though it is a practical supermini.

Interior space

• Front seats are adjustable and supportive, even for tall passengers.

Generations

The Alfa Romeo MiTo was released in 2008 as a premium three-door hatchback with upmarket styling. It was Alfa Romeo's first supermini and shared a platform with the Fiat Grande Punto and Vauxhall Corsa. Minor updates were made in 2014 and 2016 to its exterior styling and technology to keep it relevant, but it was ultimately discontinued in 2018 before it could enter a new generation.
