The Suzuki Alto is a 5-door A-segment car designed for those who need a small and economical way to get around town. By the end of its production in 2014, the Alto had already released 7 generations in the market. Its long history gave the Japanese carmaker valuable insight into the needs of small car owners. The final-generation Alto quickly became popular after it was released, and even today, it is still in demand within the used car market. The Alto only offered 1 engine option, a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder petrol motor with a 5-speed manual transmission. The engine is relatively speedy, going from 0-100 kph in 13.5 seconds and a maximum of 96 kph.
Although the last-generation Alto (2009-2014) was better equipped than its predecessors, it still only had a basic range of equipment. The Alto came in 3 different trims: the SZ, the SZ3 and the SZ4. The entry-level trim comes with the following standard features:
The base-level SZ's rock-bottom price came at the expense of comfort, making it the least preferable Alto. Spend a little more and get the SZ3 trim, which offers a much better kit, including manual air conditioning and remote central locking. Additionally, the top-range SZ4 is the only trim with an automatic gearbox. Unlike its competitors, there were no optional OEM package upgrades available for the Suzuki Alto. As a result, if you want any extra features, such as Bluetooth, DAB radio or sat-nav, opt for dealer-fitted accessories. You can also get other aftermarket accessories fitted for your Alto, such as chrome door handles, roof racks, carpet mats and leather gear knobs.
