If you’re in the market for a car that’s practical, fun and well-equipped, then a used SEAT Ateca is a great choice. Even though it's still in the first generation, there was an update in 2020 offering a fresh and new look.

Even though the diesel engines are more efficient, most people have purchased an Ateca with a petrol powertrain. The petrol-engined Atecas are cheaper to buy and more readily available on the used car market.
Currently, the Ateca is available in six models: SE, SE Technology, FR, FR Sport, XPERIENCE and XPERIENCE Lux. The SE Technology has proven to be the most popular among Ateca owners, with features such as the updated 9.2-inch infotainment system with built-in satnav, proximity sensor and voice control.
Customers should look out for heated front seats, and there's also an electrical tailgate that makes loading and unloading easier. Safety features such as a top view monitor and adaptive cruise control are also worth looking for.
With enough space to hold three adults in the back seat, the Ateca is an excellent choice for busy families. The Ateca also has a large amount of boot space – more than the Nissan Qashqai – allowing families to pack their luggage for a weekend holiday.
SEAT hasn't released a hybrid Ateca yet, though one could arrive in the future. For now, the most efficient powertrain is the 1.6-litre TDI diesel motor that delivers 113bhp with an efficiency rating of up to 62mpg.
There have been DSG automatic and manual gearboxes available with Ateca models. Both are equally popular, so customers shouldn't have trouble finding either.
Yes, there's a four-wheel drive configuration available with the Ateca models. This option is slightly less popular than the standard front-wheel drive setup, but it does add more traction on slippery surfaces.
