If you're in the market for a car that's stylish and affordable, then a used Citroen C1 is a great choice. The cost of buying a C1 is lower than most other cars, and its size and efficiency make it cheap to run, making it an ideal option for a young or new driver.
Through the years, there have been both petrol and diesel engines available, with a manual or automatic gearbox and standard front-wheel drive.

Interior spaceCitroen released the C1 in 2005 as a low-cost option that was closely related to the Toyota Aygo and Peugeot 107. It was offered with three or five doors, and went through two generations before being discontinued in the UK in 2022 so that the company could focus more on larger vehicles with electric and hybrid configurations.
The basic design of the C1 remained the same with the new generation except that the air intakes became more noticeable and LED daytime running lights were installed in the bumper. The 1.0-litre petrol engine is the most popular in the C1. It's extremely efficient with a rating up to 58.9mpg, and it produces 70bhp, which is more than enough for such a small car.
There have been numerous trim levels over the years, including the Urban Ride, Shine, Flair and Furio. In the used market, the Flair tends to be the most popular with its leather steering wheel, reverse camera, 15-inch alloy wheels and electrically adjustable wing mirrors.
Customers should look out for a used C1 with the Active City Brake technology. This autonomous emergency braking system includes traffic sign recognition and lane departure warning to provide even more safety and peace of mind.
