Volkswagen has supplied the Arteon with diesel, hybrid and petrol powertrains, equipped with a manual or an automatic transmission and front- or four-wheel drive.

Petrol

1.5 TSI is rated for 147bhp helps it hit 60mph in 8.7 seconds, with an efficiency rating of 43.0mpg.
2.0-litre outputs 187bhp for a 7.5-second 0-60mph time and an efficiency rating of 41.5mpg.
R models have an upgraded 2.0-litre rated for 315bhp that can hit 60mph in just 4.7 seconds, but efficiency drops to 32.2mpg.
Plug-in hybrid makes a combined 214bhp for a 7.6-second 0-60mph time and an electric-only driving range of up to 34 miles per charge.

Diesel

2.0 TDI creates 147bhp for a 0-60mph time of 9.1 seconds and an efficiency rating of 59mpg.
Upgraded 2.0 TDI can output 197bhp, reducing the 0-60mph time to 7.6 seconds and retaining an efficiency rating of around 54mpg.
