The muscular styling of the BMW 6 Series Convertible marks it out as a car that really means business - and it certainly delivers.
The original models, produced between 2004 and 2010, offer a choice of engines ranging from a 3L V6 to a 4.4L V8 in petrol, and diesel drivers are catered for with a 3.5L version. The cars also offer a range of gearboxes including a six-speed manual, an automatic and a sequential manual. In later models, produced from 2011 onwards, the engine choices were changed to petrol-driven: a 4.8L V8 and a 4L V6 with an eight-speed automatic box.
The 6 Series' soft top folds neatly down, only taking up 50 litres worth of the space in the car's 350-litre capacity boot, and there's a retractable rear windscreen that helps the driver to be less buffeted at speed.
The later model, introduced in 2011, is longer, lower and wider than its predecessor creating even more space in an already spacious 2 + 2 car. The 6 Series Convertible comes with leather, sat-nav, xenons and parking sensors as standard.
