First appearing on the UK's roads in 1996, the Ford Ka was a distinctive mini car, with a curvy retro styling. The second generation arrived in 2008 and adopted a more conventional body design.
Both generations are small three-door hatchbacks, although the original model did offer a convertible two-door version called the StreetKa. The most recent model of the Ka is certainly considered the more stylish and modern looking. It is good fun to drive, especially around town.
You'll find the modern Ka comes in various trim levels: Studio, Edge, Zetec, Grand Prix Metal and Titanium. All use a 1.2L petrol engine, manual gearbox, anti-lock brakes and remote central locking, and driver and passenger airbags are standard.
The Zetec model has a long list of standard equipment, including air-conditioning, electric heated mirrors, electric front windows and power steering. The MPS-CD stereo has an iPod connection and there are eye-catching alloy wheels. A panoramic sunroof, Bluetooth connectivity, rear parking sensors and metallic paint are all optional extras.
With its split-folding back seats you'll find the Ka is surprisingly spacious inside for such a compact and fuel-efficient vehicle.
