Honda Civic Type R
Originally launched in 2007 as the hot hatch in the excellent Honda Civic range, the Type R model has gone from strength to strength since then, including only minor changes on the way.
The newer models deliver a more powerful 200 bhp and very respectable 0-60 mph figures of a little under seven seconds. The car's comparatively lightweight and responsive steering makes it a very precise car to drive. The ride is undeniably firm thanks to the stiff suspension and the supportive seats.
The Honda Civic Type R may be the very definition of a hot hatch but it's practical too; for example, the rear seats fold flat in a single movement to create a very generous amount of storage space - in fact a whole 100 litres more than you'd get with a Ford Focus.
There's also a great deal of equipment supplied as standard including electronic stability control, dual front and side airbags and heated door mirrors. The higher spec GT version also has rain-sensing wipers and a refrigerated and lockable glove box.
In short, the Honda Civic Type R is a great car if you want more than just performance. You'll find a range of used Honda Civic Type R cars available from many dealers listed at Motors.co.uk, where we strive to find the right deal for you based on your ideal budget and desired location.
