Honda FR V

The Honda FR V is an ingenious 6 seat compact MPV that looks great, drives well and has excellent reliability. One of the few small people carriers to feature a 3+3 seating arrangement, this clever use of space has unlocked a huge amount of space and unquestionable levels of practicality. If anything, this car proves that thinking outside the box can have excellent results, which is why it’s worth a look even out of curiosity.

The 5 door hatchback FR V was in production between 2004 and 2009. Over that time it proved quite popular due to the fact it offered maximal interior space in a chassis no bigger than a regular family hatchback. Other plus points included Honda’s trademark build quality, attention to detail and impressive levels of safety. The FR V really was an excellent family auto.

From the outside it looks very good indeed with some angular features, big windows and nice amount of ‘bling’. The interior is just as good with high quality materials throughout. It’s genuinely comfortable and stylish, and is fully loaded with kit as you’d expect from a Honda. The boot is huge anyway, but with the rear seats down its monstrous, and with a plethora of bins, holders and compartments all over the cabin it’s clearly been designed with practicality in mind. While the 3+3 seating arrangement is clever, it can be rather snug in the front with 3 adults, but overall there’s a load of space.

Honda cars traditionally drive well, and the FR V is no exception. It’s easy, forgiving and has a nice ride that can handle Britain’s roads without issue. Some confident steering makes it simple to manoeuvre, and there are loads of different petrol and diesel engines to choose from that use Honda’s VTEC technology. Performance and economy really aren’t a problem, which is good news.

If you’re dead set on getting this car, buying second hand is by far the best way to go about it. Here at Motors.co.uk there’s an incredible selection of pre owned cars for sale that boast low prices and high quality. What this means is that you’ll pay considerably less for a used Honda FR V and it’ll be almost like new for the most part.

At the end of the day, the MPV/people carrier genre has become almost stagnant as different manufacturers offer similar things time and time again. Honda has deviated from the norm with the FR V and actually the results are very impressive indeed. For those people who want a spacious and practical family car that’s quite stylish, comfortable and economical, but most importantly different, take a look at the Honda today and grab a great deal!
