The Kia Cee'd Automatic continues the Korean marque's resurgence with the help of former Audi designer Peter Schreyer. Its European styling helping it to stand shoulder to shoulder with more expensive competitors including the Ford Focus and Volkswagen Golf.

The automatic harnesses a 134bhp 1.6L turbodiesel to their new seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which ensures swift, smooth changes, improved economy and can take the car to 60mph in just 10.2 seconds. It also offers low emissions of just 109g/km.

You can get a Kia Cee'd Automatic in a choice of three trims: 2, 3 and 4. All come with air-con, cruise control, DAB radio with Bluetooth connectivity, electric windows, alloys and electronic stability control as standard. The 3 adds sat nav, parking cameras, dual-zone climate control and privacy glass, and the top-of-the-range 4 gives you heated front seats, leather upholstery and larger alloys.

The Cee'd is available in five door hatchback and sportwagon estate versions, all of which have lots of space for four adults or five at a pinch. Both also offer more boot space than either the Focus or Golf with the seats up or down.
