Land Rover Defender 110 generations

The Land Rover Defender is the successor to the popular Series lineup, taking the place of the Series III in 1991. While the SUV went through several upgrades and refreshes, it was ultimately discontinued in 2016 while still in its first generation. However, Land Rover brought the Defender 110 back to the market in 2019 with a brand-new generation that was modern and ready to compete.

Second Generation (2019-present)

After being out of the market for several years, Land Rover released a new Defender 110 in 2019, as a 2020 model. The new unibody construction was a major upgrade from the previous on-frame configuration. It also had some new styling features, such as LED daytime running lights in a circular shape, similar to that from the Series lineup.

The modern interior featured a digital instrument cluster and a tall centre console. It was also available with many different personalisation options, such as the number of seats and engine type.

First Generation (1991-2016)

To continue the Land Rover Series III lineup, the nameplate was changed to the Defender. The Defender 110 took the place of the 110 - the largest option until the Defender 130 was released shortly afterwards. The initial SUV had a ladder chassis and aluminium bodywork with a squared shape, showcasing its practical purpose.

The first major update occurred in 2007 when emissions regulations were ensured through new engine options. Another update followed in 2012 with some minor restyling before the lineup was discontinued temporarily in 2016.
