Various petrol and diesel powertrains have been available during the Discovery Sport's first generation, including a plug-in hybrid model.

Petrol

P300e has a 1.5-litre engine paired with an electric motor to produce a total of 304bhp, allowing for up to 36 miles of electric-only driving before transitioning to petrol/electric power.
P250 HSE trim produces 245bhp for a 7.8-second 0-60mph time.
Older P200 outputting 197bhp is no longer offered with the current lineup.

Diesel
