The Peugeot 3008 started appearing on our roads in 2008. The new French car made an immediate impression: the sleek modern lines and impressive on-road handling showed that this was Peugeot getting serious about producing a state-of-the-art crossover.
The car is a five-door hatchback with SUV off-roader styling. Some models come with four-wheel drive but many just use conventional front-wheel drive. Buyers are more concerned with the purposeful good looks, practical interior and commanding driving position, than the ability to climb muddy mountains in the snow.
The 3008 comes with a wide choice of petrol and diesel engines, including the 1.6L petrol as the entry point to the range, as well as 1.6L and 2.0L diesels and a HYMotion4 diesel/electric hybrid. The 3008 automatic can be specified with a six-speed automatic or six-speed semi-automatic. This is a car that's fun to drive, with lively engines and sporty handling.
It's spacious and well planned on the inside and was given a 5/5 rating on the Euro NCAP safety tests. You'll find lots of useful cubbyholes around the car for storage as well as the decent-sized boot.
