BMW 7 Series
The BMW 7 series represents the German automaker’s flagship line-up of cars, and is only available as a sedan or limousine. Introduced in 1977, the 7 Series has historically brought cutting-edge technology and designs to BMW’s automotive range, many years before these breakthroughs become incorporated in their other series.
The BMW 7 series is one of the most aspirational car ranges on the road today, mainly due to their state-of-the-art feature set, high power and accepted durability. Many engine options are available, with BMW offering diesel, straight 6, V8 and V12 motors throughout the range.
The E65-E68 versions (2002-2008) feature BMW’s premier iDrive system. This consists of a video screen in the dashboard and mouse-like controller which powers the car’s complex system of menus for interior climate, audio, navigation, suspension and communication. This system even featured internet browsing on future iterations.
The 5th generation F01/F02 (built from 2009 to present) heralded a class-leading emission figure for luxury cars, showing the 7 series is also ahead in the environmental stakes. The F01 is also available in a bulletproof version! Achieving 60mph in 6 seconds is a cinch and the cabin’s massive multimedia screen will keep passengers happy.
The BMW 7 Series has been at the absolute pinnacle of automotive engineering since 1977 and they are naturally pricey, which means that the market isn’t exactly brimming with used BMW 7 versions.
