Hyundai i40

The Hyundai i40 is the model with which the South Korean manufacturer aims to take on its rivals like the Ford Mondeo and Vauxhall Insignia - and in many respects it's as good, if not better, than these.

It's available in both estate and saloon versions and boasts a range of petrol and diesel engines. Petrol versions come in 1.6L and 2L variants while the 1.7L diesel engine comes with two power outputs of 113 bhp or 134 bhp. All versions come with a six-speed manual gearbox that is particularly effective in lower gears and there is also the option of a six-speed automatic transmission.

Comfort and interior space are among the best features of the Hyundai i40 with plenty of room for four passengers, even if they're six foot or more and the seats are so well upholstered that even long motorway drives shouldn't be a chore.

The estate version has a large boot with over 1,700 litres of space when the rear seats are folded down and the saloon version has a more than adequate 525 litres.

In terms of equipment, a great deal comes as standard including automatic headlights and Bluetooth connectivity.

So if you're looking for a mid-sized family saloon or estate but want to avoid the usual options, then a used i40 could be the one for you - especially when there's such a great choice from dealers all around the UK at Motors.co.uk.
