Bracknell

The town of Bracknell is located in Berkshire, south east of Reading and west of London. The population is about 50,000 and it was designated a New Town in 1949. Surrounded by woodland, there’s quite a lot of history to be found in the area.

From the Bronze Age to the Tudor era, there’s always been much activity around the town, mainly because of the proximity to Windsor Forest. Numerous old buildings can be found, including the Old Manor pub that was frequented by Dick Turpin.

After the Second World War, Bracknell was made a New Town and much development occurred, and as a result expansion and an influx of people followed. Many different neighbourhoods exist, and are characterised by shops, churches and community centres.

Many technological firms have headquarters there, including Panasonic, HP and Dell; the Silicon Corridor along the M4 is one of the main reasons for this. The decline of manufacturing after the 1980s means business is the main industry of the area. Although some traditional companies like the Thomas Lawrence brick works still exist.

The fact that Bracknell is surrounded by forest and countryside means it’s a fantastic location for motoring enthusiasts to get out and cruise along back roads. A relatively central location in the southern half of England means the likes of the Chilterns or even the Cotswolds are well within reach. There’s nothing like a seeing the hedgerows flash past, especially when in full bloom come summer.

The collection of second hand cars for sale in Bracknell at Motors.co.uk is quite impressive, and includes a huge number in surrounding areas as well. The great thing about buying used is that you’ll pay significantly less, and the prices here are well and truly slashed. Add high quality to the mix, and basically it’s the best possible recipe for an awesome deal.
