Weymouth

Weymouth is a popular seaside town on the south Dorset coast that’s home to 53,000 people. It also lends its name to the surrounding district, Weymouth and Portland, which happens to be twinned with Holzwickende in Germany, as well as Louvier in France.

While it grew up as a port in the 13th century, it wasn’t until the 18th century that tourism started to take hold of the town, and it subsequently became a hugely important resort. Impressive Victorian architecture can be seen all throughout Weymouth, and it’s easy to see why people flocked in their droves.

An important staging point for the D-Day landings in 1944, Weymouth has had some sort of military or naval presence for years, due to its harbour and location to the Channel. These days however it is used more for fishing, sailing and leisure than anything else. Some notable landmarks in the town include the Nothe Fort, beautiful sandy beach, Brewers Quay and the National Sailing Academy.

As a county, Dorset is excellent for motorists because there’s so much to explore. Weymouth, for this reason, is a great place to stop on a day out. You really don’t have to put that much effort into seeking out some awesome driving roads because there’s really an abundance on offer. Variable terrain keeps things interesting, but ultimately you won’t find many better places to cruise around during the summer.

Uncovering some truly treasure like used cars for sale in Weymouth is incredibly straightforward here at Motors.co.uk, and all it takes is a few minutes, a couple of mouse clicks and a test drive. Listing nothing but second hand cars of a supremely high standard at drastically reduced costs, it’s a sure fire way to end up with the deal of a lifetime!
