The Volvo S60 has several optional features, but 2 main packages stand out: the Convenience pack and the Intellisafe Pro pack. Due to its quiet cabin and impressive range of driver-assist systems, the S60 is a great ride for long-distance trips. Volvo's 390 HP and 405 HP hybrid engines combine the front 2.0-litre 4-cylinder petrol engine with a small electric motor and lithium-ion battery in the back. Depending on which S60 trim, you'll either get a turbocharged 299 HP or a supercharged 314 HP petrol engine powering the front wheels, while the electric motor produces the remaining 91 HP to power the rear wheels.

Although the Volvo S60 is among the most practical cars in the saloon category, it trails behind many rivals with its 442-litre boot space. Replacing the puncture kit with a full-size spare further reduces its capacity to 390 litres. For comparison, the Audi A4 provides 480 litres of boot space. When you keep in mind that the S60 is a 4-wheel-drive hybrid with a rear motor, the luggage space is quite impressive.

The Euro NCAP awarded the Volvo S60 a full 5-star safety rating in 2018. The test results included an impressive 96% score for adult occupants' protection. The high safety rating is primarily due to the S60's strong build and the array of standard safety features that it packs. All trim variants get autonomous braking, anti-lock brakes, tyre-pressure warning and stability control, plus you can also add the optional Intellisafe Pro package to any level trim.
