Jeep wanted to appeal to a broader market beyond those looking to have off-road adventures. The obvious solution was to create a crossover that could hold a family but didn't sacrifice capability. Jeep therefore released the Compass, which was a smaller version of the popular Jeep Cherokee.
A mild refresh arrived in 2011 with some styling upgrades and improved drivetrain options. Jeep has a 4xe Plug-In Hybrid that creates a combined 236bhp and offers electric driving of up to 34 miles per charge. There's also a mild e-Hybrid model that uses a 1.5-litre engine to produce 128bhp and return a rating of 49.6mpg and CO2 emissions of 128g/km.
