Rugby is a town in Warwickshire that also lends its name to the surrounding borough. Home to over 62,000 people, it has been a market centre for years and has twin status with Evreux in France and Russelsheim in Germany.

Without doubt, the town is most famous for being the birthplace of rugby football, which was created by William Web Ellis in 1823. However, it is also known as the home of the first ever jet engine, produced in 1937 at the British Thomson- Houston factory.

A quiet market town or many years, industrialisation occurred in the 19th century with the creation of railways, and associated industries grew up around the junction. Becoming a major engineering centre, it is known for cement, gas and steam turbine production these days. To some extent tourism also plays a part, particularly related to sport, and the Rugby School is a major landmark for this reason.

With a significant amount of countryside around it, Rugby is actually a great location for motorists. The Peak District lies to the north, and there are some incredible motorway links on either side of the town, particularly the M1 to the east. You don’t have to go that far to find some fantastic winding B roads, and crack a smile from behind the steering wheel.

There are loads of cheap used cars for sale in Rugby, and at Motors.co.uk you can find some of the best with only a few clicks of the mouse. Prices are heavily discounted, and the overall standard is extremely high, so it’s like paying less for an auto that’s not that different to something in a showroom, except maybe a few more miles on the clock. Indeed with second hand cars you can uncover some monumental bargains and satisfy your driving needs for nowhere near as much.
