Crawley

Crawley is a town in West Sussex that also has the key attribute of being a borough. South of London and north of Brighton, it’s a perfectly positioned market town that’s hugely popular with commuters to the capital. With a population of over 100,000, it’s twinned with Dorsten in Germany.

There’s a lot of history in the area, and Stone Age people settled there originally. It grew during the Roman era due to the abundance of raw minerals, but really became important during the 13th century as a stage coach stop for individuals on the way to London and Brighton; clearly not much has changed since then.

Designated a New Town in 1947, significant development occurred in the years that followed, including the construction of Gatwick airport just outside Crawley itself. Related support industries have subsequently taken over much of the local economy.

Things that put it on the map these days include Crawley Town F.C. the K2 Leisure Centre, Memorial Gardens park and also the County Mall shopping centre.

In terms of its attribute for motorists, Crawley has exceptional motorway connections to all surrounding areas thanks to the A23 and M23, which connect to the London orbital M25. Away from urban areas though, there’s plenty of opportunity to cruise around in the country because the town is surrounded by farmland and small villages. Some of the B roads are excellent, and you really can get stuck in and have a good time.

Second hand cars for sale in Crawley are widely available at Motors.co.uk, but there’s even more scope to bag a bargain if you increase your search area to include surrounding towns and cities. With genuine UK wide coverage, it’s so easy to find the right used auto to meet your needs, but best of all, the prices are eye wideningly low and you’ll only see vehicles of the highest standard.
