Located in the county of West Sussex, the market town of Horsham has a population in the area of 56,000. It is situated south west of London and north west of Brighton. The town itself is twinned with Lerici in Italy and Horsham in Australia, while the wider district is paired with Lage in Germany and St Maxient L’Ecole in France.

Established in the Middle Ages, the market has always been a focal point in the town’s history, such is the agricultural nature of the surrounding area. However other industries include iron smelting, brick making and even brewing. These days, the town is more of a financial centre, with the likes of RSA Insurance having headquarters there.

There are a variety of landmarks in the town, especially in the central Carfax area; the Shelley fountain is particularly notable. One of the oldest buildings in Horsham is the Parish church, which is over 800 years old. The town hall also dates back to the 17th century. There’s a proud sporting heritage as well, with the cricket club, football club and rugby club having been around for many years.

Located very well in terms of road connections to places like London, Horsham and its surroundings are ideal for driving therefore. West Sussex is a great motoring county and there are loads of great B roads to explore; the coast is well within reach too.

If you’re on the hunt for used cars for sale in Horsham, Motors.co.uk can definitely help you out. Listing thousands of second hand autos from all over the country, it’s highly likely you’ll find a significant selection in the town or county at large.
