Maserati Granturismo

The Maserati Granturismo is an eye wateringly beautiful car from one of the most famous Italian motoring manufacturers. An absolute masterpiece of design, it’s not short on performance either thanks to some massive V8 engines. The 2 door, 2+2 seater coupe is enough to make you shed a tear and pray for a miracle that’ll somehow make one appear on your driveway. It really is phenomenal.

Unleashed to the world in 2007, the most modern versions of the Granturismo certainly carry on the famous Maserati motoring traditions. In an automotive genre that’s one of the most competitive around, it holds off stiff competition from the likes of Porsche, Jaguar and Aston Martin thanks to its incredible drive and unquestionable prestige. A plethora of improved versions are also available, and include the Granturismo S, MC, MC Sport Line and MC Stradale. There’s even a cabriolet version, the GranCabrio, which makes the summer months feel like heaven.

The exterior of the Grandturismo has clearly been sculpted by a master craftsman because every surface is flawless. The low profile, sultry curves and that famous trident logo mounted on a gaping front grille are all standout features, as are the 3 side vents positioned behind the front wheels. The only word that can be used to sum it up is ‘phwoar!’

Inside, things are equally as impressive as you’d expect from a luxury manufacturer. There’s actually quite a lot of room in the Gran Turismo, and the 2+2 seating arrangement makes for maximal comfort in a rather sleek and slender car. There’s no lack of Italian panache and the interior designer must have been given free reign as everything is impeccable. From the stitching on the seats to the quality materials that adorn the dash, high standards are a given.

To drive, the Maserai is magical to say the least. Its lightweight and well balanced chassis mean it handles superbly and simply dominates any corner you encounter. Easy to drive, it’s composed at both high and low speeds, and the ride is akin to sitting on air. A car of this ilk is made for big engines, and the Granturismo has some monstrous V8s on offer. Not only do they produce an Olympian level of performance, but the soundtrack is enough to make your ears explode with delight.

It should be pretty obvious that a car like the Maserati doesn’t come cheaply; in fact you’ll pay a small fortune to buy one brand new. If you’ve been praying for that miracle though, the answer is actually rather obvious- buy second hand. Here at Motors.co.uk, low prices and high quality are the norm, so you’ll be able to pick up a used Maserati Granturismo for drastically less of the cost!

To be honest, all there is to say about the Maserati is ‘oh my god!’ It’s one of the best looking cars around and has the performance to match. Those people in the lucky position of being able to afford a high performance GT coupe should consider nothing else. This car is like a dream come true, and every time you drive it will feel like all your birthdays at once.
