Used Vauxhall Corsa-e information
Engines and transmissions
Vauxhall mainly offered one powertrain option with all Corsa-e models, complete with regenerative braking and three drive modes (Eco, Sport and Normal). The most recent models have more powerful electric motor for improved acceleration.
Electric- Since the inception of the Corsa-e, there has been an available electric motor producing 134bhp with a 50kWh battery.
- New powertrain option includes a 154bhp electric motor and 51kWh battery.
- Driving range reaches up to 248 miles per charge, and it can achieve an 80% charge in about 30 minutes using a rapid charger.
- Takes 2.8 seconds to hit 31mph and reaches 62mph in 8.2 seconds, making the car responsive and nimble in and around town.
Practicality
While the Corsa-e is small and agile, there's much more interior space than expected, making it suitable for daily driving.
Interior space
- Optimal driving position, especially for a low-to-the-ground, sporty feel.
- Rear headroom accommodates taller adults.
- Rear middle seat meant for a child only.
- ISOFIX child seat points found in zippered pockets.
- 267-litre boot is slightly smaller than the conventional Corsa because of the batteries.
- Rear seats fold down to offer more loading space.
- Ridge created from folding rear seats down can be used to separate cargo.
Safety
- Standard Corsa received a four-star rating from Euro NCAP, but the electric hasn't been evaluated.
- Lane departure warning and lane keep assist are included with every model.
- Available panoramic rear-view camera increases visibility around the car.
Technology
- Standard 7-inch touchscreen display is included in older models, with a 10-inch unit being used with the most recent lineup.
- Apple CarPlay and Android Auto enhance connectivity.
- Available 7-inch digital driver information centre is easy to read.
Used Vauxhall Corsa-e FAQ's
What is the difference between the Corsa and Corsa-e?
Aside from the electric powertrain in the Corsa-e, it also has a slightly longer wheelbase. The Corsa Electric has its rear axle pushed back further so that it can better accommodate the battery below the seats. It also has differently tuned steering and suspension that handle the added weight better.
Which are the most popular trim levels?
The current Corsa-e models are available in three trims: Design, GS and Ultimate. Earlier trims include the Elite, SE and SRi. The GS is proving to be the most popular trim with Corsa-e owners as it balances the value of the Design with the top-notch features of the Ultimate.
What optional extras should I look out for?
Buyers should look out for used models with upgraded styling touches, such as a black roof and dark-tinted rear windows, or a variety of unique alloy wheel designs. Some models come with heated front seats and driver's seat massage. There are also advanced safety features, such as side blind spot alerts and adaptive cruise control, that provide more peace of mind.
Is the Vauxhall Corsa-e a good family car?
Because of its smaller size, the Corsa-e may not be immediately identifiable as a family car. However, there's enough space in the back for a couple of taller passengers, and there are ISOFIX points to hold child seats. Passengers find the interior to be comfortable, even on longer drives.
Is there a hybrid version of the Corsa-e?
If you don't want to purchase the Corsa Electric, you may prefer the petrol, diesel or hybrid Corsa lineup. While the cars feature similar styling, the Corsa has more boot space and a wide variety of powertrain options to pick from.
Is the Corsa-e available as an automatic?
Yes, the Corsa-e is an electric vehicle, so a manual gearbox isn't an option. Instead, instant torque is provided through a single-gear automatic transmission for quick acceleration.
Is there a four-wheel drive version available?
The Corsa-e has one electric motor that creates front-wheel drive. Most cars in this segment don't offer all-wheel drive as it's not needed for everyday driving. During urban and motorway travel, the Corsa-e has superb handling and instantaneous torque for rapid acceleration.
