Sensibly Priced Cars
If you're in the market for a car that's cheap to run, stylish and enjoyable to drive, then a used Citroen DS 3 is a great choice. Even with its smaller size, the DS 3 has an upmarket feel and offers a comfortable driving experience. This small Citroen is also straightforward to drive and gets in and out of parking spaces with ease.
Citroen offered mostly petrol engines with a diesel option, along with a manual or an automatic gearbox and standard front-wheel drive.
PetrolThe three-door DS 3 isn't as practical as some larger five-door superminis, but it does have an easy-to-access back seat.
Interior spaceCitroen unveiled the DS 3 in 2010 as a premium option in the supermini segment, with a level of design and specification that's not typically found in smaller cars. The DS 3 was extermely well-received by the motoring press and UK car buyers alike, until Citroen decided to split entities between the standard lineup of vehicles and the premium models. This model became part of the DS lineup, and was discontinued in 2019.

As the standard mid-range option, the 1.6 VTi petrol was the most popular engine. It outputs 120bhp, so it's not the top of the line, but still offers a decent balance between performance and fuel economy.
Even though there were some special editions, the Citroen DS 3 came in three standard trims: DSign, DStyle and DSport. The DStyle Plus is among the top choices with some upgraded features over the base trim, including heated mirrors, cruise control, body-coloured bumpers and rear parking sensors.
For a sportier appearance, you should look out for the 17-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels and a roof spoiler. Buyers should also look for the optional twin chrome exhaust tips and some chrome exterior pieces. Some examples also came equipped with an uprated sound system.
Because of its three-door design, this Supermini may not be the top choice for a family car, but it's actually better than most in the segment. With wide-opening doors, it's easy to get into the back seat, and the boot is spacious.
During the production years of the Citroen DS 3, there were only petrol and diesel powertrains offered. However, the newer DS 3 lineup through DS Automobiles does have an all-electric version that can travel up to 250 miles per charge.
An automatic was offered with select engines, but it's not a popular choice, so it's much harder to find. Most Citroen DS 3 cars have a manual gearbox.
As a supermini, the Citroen DS 3 comes only with front-wheel drive. Four-wheel drive was never offered as an option, as it isn't needed for everyday city driving.
