Interior spaceThe Hyundai i10 was released in 2008 and became instantly popular as a fantastic city car for the UK market. Through three generations, Hyundai has managed to keep the i10 relevant and ahead of the technology curve, ensuring that every model comes with more than its predecessor in terms of tech features, exterior style and cargo space.
The manufacturer offered its latest model in 2019, and provided a facelift in 2023, with a new grille and a lower lip spoiler. The i10 continues to contribute to Hyundai's success in the UK and provides comfortable driving around both cities and motorways.
Hyundai revealed the third-generation i10 in 2019 with a bolder look and new alloy wheel designs. Inside the cabin, Hyundai also added an 8-inch infotainment display with navigation, along with some enhanced comfort features, such as available automatic climate control and heated front seats.
In 2023, a refresh occurred that included a new grille and LED daytime running lights. The bumper also received an upgrade that set it apart from other models in the Hyundai lineup. A facelift in the cabin added a dual-screen dashboard display with a touchscreen on top and a TFT instrument panel.

The second-generation i10 was revealed to offer a slimmer air intake and feline-shaped headlights. An arched roof was cut short with the tailgate that tilted forward, topped off with a smaller roof spoiler over the rear windscreen. A 60:40 split bench seat was added to increase the boot space.
A 2016 refresh added Hyundai's cascading grille design with smaller fog lamps and some new alloy wheel styles. New upholstery options were offered, including blue and red interiors for more flair.

When it was first released, the i10 was hailed as the perfect city car. It was tiny enough to fit in small parking spaces, but still offered enough room to hold five. The interior was designed well, with everything in reach of the driver.

The entry-level 1.0-litre engine can feel underpowered on the motorway, but it's the most efficient when driving in the city. For maximum power, you may prefer the N Line with its turbocharged engine. However, amongst owners, most have opted for the 1.2-litre SE engine.
Newer i10 models are available in three trim levels: Advance, Premium and N Line. However, in earlier models, trims also included the S, SE and Go Edition. The SE is still one of the most popular amongst i10 owners.
There are a variety of optional extras to look out for on available models. Styling upgrades are available, such as larger alloy wheels, LED H-pattern headlights and rear privacy glass. For more tech features, look for a model with a wireless charging pad to keep your devices juiced up or a rearview camera for easier parking.
The i10 may not have the space needed for long family holidays, but it's a great city car that can hold up to five people. For a short commute every day, it would be perfect for accommodating the family and saving money.
There isn't a hybrid version of the i10 yet, but there may be one in the future.
