Engines and transmissions

The Audi Q7 has been offered with petrol and diesel engines, as well as a newer plug-in hybrid. These have included a standard automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. For more power and performance, check out the Audi SQ7.

Petrol

Sport 55 TSFI 3.0-litre V6 creates 335bhp for a 5.7-second 0-60mph time.
TFSI e Quattro plug-in hybrid has a 3.0-litre petrol engine with an electric motor to make between 375bhp and 455bhp, providing an all-electric driving range of over 25 miles per charge.

Diesel

45 TDI 3.0-litre V6 creates 227bhp, giving it a 0-60mph time of 7.1 seconds.
50 TDI uses the same engine with an increased output of 281bhp, reducing the 0-60mph time to 5.9 seconds.
3.0 TDI diesel PHEV offers a combined output of 254bhp and up to 35 miles of pure electric driving range.
Older diesel engines have outputs ranging from 201bhp with the 3.0-litre TDI to 493bhp with the 6.0-litre TDI.

Practicality

With its configurable cabin space, the Q7 is the perfect family SUV, providing plenty of comfort and tech features.

Interior space

Two rows for five passengers or three rows for seven people.
Second row is ideal for adults, while the third row is better suited for children.
Up to six ISOFIX points are easy to access for customised child seat configurations.

Boot space

Folding third row creates boot capacity of 740 litres, more than the Volvo XC90 and BMW X5.
Putting both rows down provides 1,925 litres of space.
Large load opening and no boot lip make it easier to place heavy items in the back.
Boot has a 12V power socket, shopping hooks, netted storage and luggage tethers.

Safety

Five-star rating from Euro NCAP in 2019.
92% adult occupant rating and 86% child occupant.
Standard safety kit includes automatic emergency braking and a pop-up bonnet.
