Different generations of used Nissan Leaf

The Nissan LEAF arrived in 2010 as an affordable electric car option. The LEAF is built in the UK and it quickly became the world's best-selling EV. Nissan is currently finishing the second generation of LEAF production, with the third generation expected to be launched in 2026. Each generation has brought more technology and a longer driving range, ensuring that the driver's needs are met.

Second Generation (2018 to 2025)

The second-generation LEAF arrived sharing the same platform as before, but with major upgrades. The styling was updated, with its V-shaped grille found on other models. The floating roof style was borrowed from the Micra and 'Zero Emission' badges were added to both front doors. In the rear, LED taillights were added, along with a redesigned tailgate. To provide more interior space, Nissan increased the wheelbase and added a taller cabin.

A 2022 refresh brought new wheel designs and upgraded the interior technology. A new NissanConnect system was added and the ProPilot safety-assist features were introduced.

First Generation (2025 to 2017)

The all-electric compact hatchback was released to offer an affordable option to drivers who wanted a fully electric car. Its futuristic look may have appeared strange at first, but the design became popular with EV enthusiasts. Its headlights were installed closely together to protect them from damage while driving in the city. Instead of a radiator in the front, the charging point was found behind the badging.

Inside the cabin, dials were replaced with a TFT display, adding a modern touch for the time. There was also a large touchscreen display found on the centre stack to control the critical features of the vehicle.
