Vauxhall Antara

In years gone by, Vauxhall hasn’t really attacked the SUV market with as much vigour as some others. With the Antara however, it has something which not only performs exceptionally well but also draws some attention away from popular established brands. It’s muscular, spacious and very practical, and is definitely worth considering if you’re after something a bit different.

Marketed as a compact crossover SUV, the Antara has been around since 2006 and as such, several different generations are available. If anything the Vauxhall appears to have spent a lot of time in the gym as modern variants are beastly to behold, but are still very attractive to look at indeed. More of an ‘on road’ SUV, it’s easy to see why it’s so popular.

The exterior is nice and chunky, with a robust and durable look to it. Some sharp angles and defined lines come together at the front grille with has a no-nonsense appearance. Decidedly stylish, it’ll be hugely impressive on any driveway. The interior is just as good, and there’s no getting away from the high quality as everything from the dash to the stitching is finished exceptionally well. With a lot of cabin space, room for 5 people and a decent sized boot, it’s certainly got all the right characteristics.

In terms of being out on the road, the Antara handles well and has a good amount of poise to it. With a decent amount of grip in the corners, you also get some quite responsive steering which means overall it’s easy to handle. The ride is comfortable, but isn’t really suited for anything other than tarmac or dirt roads at best. With several different diesel or petrol engines to choose from, there’s a decent amount of power on offer too.

Motors.co.uk is certainly the best place to get hold of a low priced used Vauxhall Antara due to some hugely impressive price discounts and an unrelenting approach to quality. Basically you’ll pay considerably less for something that’s almost brand new, and if that’s not value for money, what is?

Basically the Antara fills a gap in Vauxhall’s line up that was getting ever wider. It really is a great quality auto and does everything you’d expect from a big SUV. Stylish, practical and very versatile, it’s ideal for families and can handle anything a regular daily routine would throw at it.
