Different generations of used Hyundai i30

Hyundai saw the need for a stylish hatchback, so the company joined with a former BMW design executive to produce the i30 in 2007. It instantly became one of the best compact segment models of its time, gaining UK popularity and accolades. Well into its third generation at this point, the i30 continues to receive upgrades that keep it competitive and desirable for today's drivers.

Third Generation (2017 to 2017)

Hyundai had already appeared to perfect the design of the i30 by the time the third generation arrived. Aside from a larger glass area added to the third window behind the back doors and a redesigned available roof spoiler for some models, much of the styling remained the same. This new lineup received more modern tech and comfort features.

Several facelifts have occurred since its introduction. For example, a 2018 update revealed redesigned lines that appeared more elegant, while the 2020 refresh added a new bumper, giving the i30 a more striking look. A 2024 facelift upgraded the front grille and lower bumper, so that's why used i30s will look slightly different from one another, depending on when they were made.

It wasn't long after the i30 was initially released that Hyundai decided to start a new generation for the city car. One of the most enjoyable aspects of this lineup was the comfortable suspension that gave the i30 great handling characteristics. In terms of technology, this i30 was ahead of its time. Bluetooth connectivity, LED running lights and other top features were supplied as part of the standard kit. Its boot was also one of the largest in the segment, making the i30 a great choice for growing families.

Sharing a platform with the Kia Ceed, the i30 filled a need in the compact segment, and the hot hatch design was popular with enthusiasts. There were some elements that matched the Mazda 3 hatchback, especially in the rear, while the front looked similar to the Ford Focus. However, the grille was smaller than what was found on the similar Kia.

In the cabin, Hyundai offered a variety of dashboard and door panel colours, along with several different material options. There were also a few different powertrain options, allowing for more personalisation.
