Different generations of used Hyundai Santa Fe

Hyundai released the Santa Fe as a rugged SUV in 2000, and it instantly gained popularity with families looking for a practical vehicle. Over the course of five generations, the Santa Fe continued to be updated and revised, with the styling changed from an off-roader to a comfortable family cruiser. Hyundai continues to release high-tech equipment and advanced safety features, ensuring that the Santa Fe remains desirable amongst modern competition.

Fifth Generation (2024 to Present)

With the arrival of the fifth-generation Santa Fe, Hyundai decided to give the SUV an entirely new look. It became larger and boxier, but was also filled with more high-end features and premium materials. The front end was given a flatter look and most of the rounded style was gone. With a mildly sloped roof line, the SUV now had a bolder appearance.

It's also fitted with fold-flat seats that could be used to sleep on when travelling. Santa Fe also received technology upgrades, such as a large infotainment screen that seamlessly fits with the bigger panoramic curved display.

Fourth Generation (2021 to 2024)

Sharper lines and a more modern design were added to the fourth generation Santa Fe. New models had 18-inch alloy wheels, LED running lights, automatic climate control and enhanced connectivity. The Santa Fe was also made to be more comfortable for families, with three-row seating coming as standard.

A 2020 refresh added even more tech features to the large SUV. On the outside, a new shield was added to the lower air intake and a redesigned rear bumper gave it a more modern appearance.

Third Generation (2012 to 2024)

Even though the third-generation Santa Fe remained affordable, the appearance looked more stylish than before with its bigger grille and bold look. The large grille was topped with three horizontal chromed lines and the bumper housed large fog lights for better visibility.

The third-generation Santa Fe didn't receive as many updates as other models, but Hyundai only kept it for six years, so it remained a relevant and fresh option for families, especially considering the large amount of powertrains that were available.
